After Paul Pogba was injured in the pre-season training match for Juventus, the question arose, will he be able to play in the World Cup? It was then reported that Pogba's injury is serious and may require surgery. And if the surgery is done, the chances of playing in the World Cup starting in November are low.

Among such news, the supporters received a hopeful news. It was known that he did not have to go to the operating table. In that case, Pogba will have a good chance of playing in the World Cup. But Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said the bad news, Pogba will not be able to return to the field without surgery. Allegri does not expect Pogba to return to the field before January.

Pogba returned to training hoping to avoid surgery. The World Cup-winning French midfielder, however, could not continue training. "Pogba trained for the second time after the injury, but he couldn't continue training," Allegri told a press conference yesterday ahead of tonight's Champions League clash with PSG. It was then decided that Pogba would need surgery.

When asked whether Pogba will be able to play in the World Cup in Qatar, Allegri directly said, "I am not thinking about whether he can play in the World Cup or not." My headache is that he cannot return to the field for Juventus before January.

According to the media, there are two options for Pogba to recover from this injury. One treatment would be to remove part of the meniscus (the fibrous tissue in the knee joint) from Pogba's right knee. Pogba will definitely be out of the field for two months.

After that, it will take some more time to recover and rehabilitate and return to the game. However, one problem with this surgery is that it is mainly for young people and has problems with rapid movement. That is, this surgery is not so convenient for footballers.

Another method of treatment is to suture the injured meniscus. It takes four to five months to recover from this surgery. Allegri's words suggest a second treatment may be chosen to help Pogba recover.

France's first match at the World Cup in Qatar is on November 22, against Australia. At least according to Allegri, Pogba is unlikely to be seen in France's midfield then.
